This well-respected, and very much sought-after Tax & MOT exempt 1978 Kawasaki KZ650D SR650 has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours.
As you can see this bike has a few parts missing – R/h mirror, kick starter, battery, tool kit & front indicators being the most obvious.
It has stood a while, so the paintwork is faded, tyres & seat cover are perished, brake master cylinders are not working, tank is a bit mucky inside & the chrome is literally jumping off the silencers!
The wheels look straight with clean alloy.
Forks & yokes look straight with good chrome.
Instruments & switches look ok.
Carburettors are free sliding off the twist grip.
Paintwork is slightly faded but solid.
The fuel tank needs a flush clean inside but feels solid and has just minor dents/marks & scratches in the original paint.
Seat base is in good condition throughout.
The engine is cosmetically clean- We have had it firing/running on easystart spray but the fuel system & carbs will need attention.
